Doll and teddy actions:

Doll and teddy (or two other different animals)

Small cup, plate, spoon, ball etc. (optional)

1. Check the child can identify which is the teddy and which is the doll.

2. Tell the child to do what you say

3. Give an instruction using either the teddy or doll plus an action (e.g. "make teddy drink" or "make dolly cry")

4. Help the child to act it out if they are struggling.

5. After a few turns, swap roles so the child has a turn to talk.

If the child has difficulty following an instruction, replace the object in the original place and then show him what he should have done.

Make sure you are not giving a hint about whether it is the doll or teddy (for example by looking at the right one or holding one closer to the child than the other)

Silly stickers

Lots of small stickers

This would work well in a small group.

Use names rather than the words, "your" and "my".
