What you could do as a Commtap ambassador

  • Distribute Commtap leaflets
    • in staff rooms;
    • at staff inset days;
    • in letters to parents;
    • at department meetings.
  • Brazenly push for training opportunities
    • at SLT service meetings – 10 minutes to point colleagues to the site or 40 minutes to 'walk' colleagues through the site;
    • at inset days in schools – show teachers and TAs how Commtap can save time and give pointers for appropriate activities for children with communication difficulties;
    • at any SIG you attend – either a pointer to the Commtap site or a more detailed 'walk' though of the site;
    • at any local conference in your area – if you can get a slot to talk about Commtap GREAT – if not can you do a poster display (we will send you our posters) and set up a table during conference break out times to introduce attendees to Commtap? This is really useful and an easy way to start publising Commtap;
    • at any local SENCo conference.
  • Write up about Commtap in any local publications
    • a department newsletter;
    • a service level email to colleagues;
    • a papagraph in any local paper/news-sheet  -  sometimes publications are keen to have something to write about!
  • Mention Commtap in reports and letters referring to specific commtap targets and activities.

Support Commtap to keep it online

Thank you for visiting Commtap.

Please read this message as it is extremely important.

  1. Visitor donations mean we can continue to host over 1,000 free activities to support speech, language, and communication development.
  2. Visitor donations mean we can continue to provide free resources to address a wide range of communication needs, including limited speech or language, interaction challenges, and needs associated with conditions such as developmental language disorder, autism, and cerebral palsy.
  3. Visitor donations mean we can continue to provide resources to support the work of speech and language therapists, teachers, teaching assistants, parents, and carers.
  4. Visitor donations mean we can continue to provide the free key word sign dictionary (bks.org.uk) which has over 2,000 Makaton and Signalong signs.

Be one of the small number of visitors to Commtap who help to keep the site running with their donations.

We know that not everyone is able to afford to pay to access these resources, however, if you can, please make a minimum donation of £10 to keep the site going.

Thank you
