These PowerPoint presentations can be used to get over key information about Commtap (see links below and down the right hand side of the page). There have been some developments to the site since these presentations were made. These are:
- you now login to edit or add a page;
- after editing an activities page you can choose to anonymise your contribution if you want to;
- when you create a new activities page, that's private to you on the site until you decide you want to "share it" (make it public): when you do share it, you can do it anonymously if you want (and you can also anonymise your contributions later if you don't do it straight away);
- the site now has information about training and events run by a number of different organisations - small and local organisations are particularly welcome to request a page on the site (which will then enable them to add more pages publicising events and training).
Some key incentives for adding stuff to Commtap:
- CPD points (ideas you could add to!)
- create your activities sheet once so that you can come back to it later for the children you work with
- you can download activities sheets that you have made as Word documents so that you could personalise it for particular children
- you get your activities sheets in a consistent format for sharing with schools - makes it much easier for school staff to use and get started doing useful stuff with the children
As mentioned in the last ambassadors' meeting, in the future we could try an incentive like free training if you add more than so much stuff to Commtap, or anyone adding stuff to Commtap gets entered into a draw for free training (from a training provider getting free advertising for doing this).
45 to 90 minute introductions
The following sets of materials are fairly similar, but have slighlty difference emphasises.
They are broadly in two parts
- Part 1 gives background to the site and people have an opportunity to find things on the site;
- Part 2 is about people adding stuff to the site: again this involves a little bit of presentation (everyone doing it together) and then people having a go on their own.
Each part takes around 45 minutes.
